We are thrilled that Mette Sigmundstad has joined our racquets team as a Senior Racquets Professional. Mette lives in Acton with her four children and two dogs. Before starting her family, tennis was a very big part of Mette's life. Hailing from Norway, she grew up playing competitive tennis. She was ranked as the number one female tennis player in Norway as a junior and senior and played on the Norwegian National Tennis Team. Her dream was to be a professional tennis player, but when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes her senior year of high school she had to pivot. Instead, Mette went to play Division 1 College Tennis at Auburn and then transferred to the University of Houston. There she was the team captain and led the team to win the Conference USA Tennis Championship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Exercise Science and a Minor in Biology. She also has a Masters in International Banking and Financial Services from Boston University. She is a USPTA certified tennis coach and NASM-CP (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified. Recently, she taught at the Thoreau Club in Concord, MA. She has also taught tennis at the Metropolitan Racquet Club in Houston and at the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex in MA. Please welcome Mette to the WCC community!
